William Shakespeare – Experiential Language

An experimental installation for the Royal Shakespeare Company, in connection with their 'myShakespeare' project.

The Installation enabled the viewer to experience the use, rhythm and power of Shakespeare’s language through ‘listening’ and through the use of visual narrative. Two experimental moving image pieces representing Romeo and Juliet, set in contrasting daytime and nighttime environments to create specific tensions, transport the viewer into both the character and extract’s psyche. Urban imagery in contrast with natural settings and the elements attempt to assist Shakespeare's language to evoke tension and emotion. Projected onto fringed curtains, a symbolic representation of a window into a 21st century Shakespearian world, add a more tactile experience for the viewer. (Soundtrack courtesy of audiogo)
